Central Camarillo lies along the US 101 corridor and is comprised of most of our retail business along with several sections of traditional tract homes ranging form the late 1950’s to the mid 1980’s. This part of town also has some apartments and entry level condominium complexes.
Just to the North of Central Camarillo is the area known as the Camarillo Heights. Camarillo Heights is bit of an eclectic mix of homes from a variety of eras with an equally diverse set of architectural styles. There really is something for almost everyone here.
If what you want is more of an estate or maybe something on a golf course or country club the area to the West is known as the Las Posas Estates. There are a few different country clubs and Golf courses to choose from in this part of town and the homes here can range from golf villas to multi-million dollar estates.
The eastern part of Camarillo is known as Mission Oaks and has a little bit of everything to offer the residents of these neighborhoods. There a some great entry level homes and Condos/Townhouses on this side of town as well some sprawling estates. Camarillo High School and several of the newer primary schools are in this neighborhood. For our retired residents Leisure Village is also here.
Maybe what you want is a more rural setting. One that could accommodate anything from a few chickens to some horses, or more. Maybe it’s a gentlemen’s ranch you have in mind or even a large working ranch or farm. We have two different and distinct parts of the area that will offer all of these things for you. Somis, is just outside of the city of Camarillo and is often referred to as the Las Posas Valley. Another area that offers these options is the famed Santa Rosa Valley with it's fertile fields and breathtaking views.
Camarillo is a beautiful community of approximately 66,000 residents located roughly 45-60 minutes West/ North-West of Los Angeles, and about as far South/ South-East of Santa Barbara. The city of Camarillo is situated just West of Thousand Oaks at the base of the Conejo Grade, on the edge of the Oxnard Plains directly along side US Highway 101 making for an easy commute. Camarillo provides convenient access to NAS Point Mugu, part of Naval Base Ventura County, just 15 minutes out of town to the south just as you reach the Ocean and the famed Pacific Coast Highway or PCH as we call it.

Camarillo’s children as well as those from the surrounding unincorporated areas are serviced by the Pleasant Valley School District until they reach High School. These same students once they reach High School attend one of two High School’s that are part of the Oxnard Union High School District. Student’s on the western portion of town generally attend Rio Mesa High School while the students on the eastern part of town generally attend Adolfo Camarillo High School. There is a new High School being built adjacent to the Camarillo Library. Information on the new school is still evolving so please check back often for more updates, currently it is expected to handle between 700-1000 college bound students in an academic rich environment. Primary education is only part of the opportunity that exists for students here. There are 3 great community colleges with-in a 30 minute drive, all part of the Ventura County Community College District. Camarillo is also proud to be home to one of the newest members of California State University system, in Cal State University Chanel Islands.
Education of our young people is critical and Camarillo obviously takes it very seriously, but there is so much more to this community. The City has more parks than I could list here. Currently there are 2 different farmers markets being held at 2 separate locations in the city on 2 different days! We have a thriving Senior’s Center that provides resources to our mature citizens. During beautiful the summer season, Constitution Park is home to the concert in the park series, for free to the public family fun entertainment. The Community Center park is often utilized for free to the public movies in the park events as well well as many other community oriented gatherings including a farmers market on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Many people are aware of the fantastic shopping opportunities that the Camarillo Premium Outlets present. Some of the “be sure not to miss” events and venues include the Cruise Nights in Old Town Camarillo as well as the Annual Camarillo Fiesta Festival, and of course the Camarillo Ranch House just to name a few. Camarillo is also home to some excellent restaurants from a variety of cuisine types. Everything from Sushi, to Mexican to Pho, to Seafood, to BBQ, and even traditional home cooking/dinners, dining in Camarillo has something for everyone’s taste.
